February Wrap Up: 2018

Here we are at the end of February, and what a month it’s been! I slowed down a bit this month on content posts, but for a short month I am amazed at how caught up I became on reviews. I decided that a weekly wrap up was just too much for me to keep up with right now; some weeks there was plenty to share and others were snoozeballs and crickets. A monthly wrap up will allow all the recaps for those who may have missed without overloading your inbox with repetitive nonsense. That said, I’m going to break it down by category and see what all’s been happening in February.

I completed 11 books (just barely squeezed in that last one), and I’m really proud of that number. I’m including the links below to my reviews either via Goodreads or my blog in case you missed my thoughts on any of these.

As Sick As Our Secrets by A. B. Whelan (4 STARS)
The Storm King by Brendan Duffy (5 STARS)
A Curious Beginning by Deanna Raybourn (5 STARS)
Sunday Silence by Nicci French(5 STARS)
Surprise Me by Sophie Kinsella(4 STARS)
By A Charm And A Curse by Jaime Questell (4 STARS)
The French Girl by Lexie Elliott (3 STARS)
Reign Of The Fallen by Sarah Glenn Marsh (3.5 STARS)
Every Single Secret by Emily Carpenter (5 STARS)
Mister Tender’s Girl by Carter Wilson (3.5 STARS)
A Perilous Undertaking by Deanna Raybourn (4 STARS)
Girl Unknown by Karen Perry (Not Pictured-DNF)

Updated Stats:

I decided to up my Goodreads Challenge to 150 books and I’m currently 6 books ahead of schedule if I want to meet my goal for 2018. I didn’t meet my personal goal of 15 books for February, but I’m still proud of the number I completed. My personal goal for March is to read 15 books, but if I read a little more or less I’m cool with that. I read 0/50 books for my Popsugar Challenge so that’s great. <insert sarcasm here> I was able to clear three books off my NetGalley TBR (Surprise Me, Mister Tender’s Girl, and Every Single Secret)… But I added FIFTEEN more new ones in their place. (I’m really not good at this math stuff) 😉 You’ll find out which ones when I post my March NetGalley update! I was able to complete one of our Suspenseful Clues and Thrilling Reviews club choices this month (The Wife) and am hoping to read Truly, Devious at a later date. I have a couple of buddy reads scheduled with Mary and Wren for March and I can’t wait to share those with you in my TBR post!

Bookstagram and Giveaways:

*That’s it for this month! Feel free to follow my book-related journeys via GoodreadsTwitter, and Instagram and happy reading! ❤

  1. Girl Unknown was it a DNF because the month ran out or was it bad? I’m hold for it at the library but will cancel the hold if it’s not that great.

Every Single Secret looks good, nice to see it was a 5 star! I’ve been curious about The French Girl too, although that nice cover I think has a lot to do with it. 🙂 I love how mysterious it looks…

  3. I cannot wait to read Every Single Secret! I read The Weight of Lies last year and loved it.
Love your Instagram pics! They are so bright and colorful I can’t help but to look forward to spring.

Sorry you didn’t like Girl Unknown. I thought it was pretty good but I’m known for being the cheese that stands alone. I also had 2 DNFs this month which makes 4 this year. Which is more than ever but I’ve decided that I can’t keep crying about all the books I can’t get to when I’m spending time reading things I’m not enjoying.
