Weekly Wrap-Up: 10/07

Happy Friday Y’all! We’ve survived another week and the weekend is practically here. We have had a busy week which significantly has slowed down my reading and reviewing. I’ve been working on some upcoming author interviews, as well as book excerpts, cover reveals, and giveaways that I’m really excited to share with you! This week, I received news that JKS Publicity as well as NetGalley are featuring my blog in their respective newsletters (it will be the Mystery/Thriller genre for NetGalley) and I couldn’t be more excited! I’ll be working extra hard to catch up on everything, but in the meantime check out the two giveaways I have going on HERE. As I creep closer to 2,000 followers on Twitter, I want to spread the word that I’ll be hosting an INTERNATIONAL giveaway once I reach that goal (so help me get there)!

I have been anxiously awaiting this one since the massive cliffhanger I experienced upon finishing Into the Light, which was the first book in the duology. I don’t read a lot in the romantic suspense genre, so these have a bit of a different feel than I’m used to, but I’ve always enjoyed stories that involve cults. Romig clearly knows how to suck a reader in to the point of wanting to lock yourself in a quiet room so that you can finish her books in a single sitting. I’ve only just started this one, but I can’t wait to read more and join in with the others on the blog tour. My stop will be on 10/19 so feel free to join me here for my review then! Book is set to be published on 10/18 from Thomas & Mercer!

I’ve had this one on my shelf for about 4 months now, but I wanted to wait until closer to pub date before reading and reviewing. I’m about halfway through and this book seems to be a mash up of genres. There are multiple POVs that jump between past and present, but it’s very easy to follow and adds to the suspense. I have a few guesses and am excited to see how they pan out. I’m planning on hosting an interview with author Mindy Mejia and will keep you updated on when that’s happening. Pub date is set at 01/03/17 right now from Atria Mystery Books.

Yay for Goodreads Giveaway wins! I’ve been eyeing this one for awhile now and was shocked when I won. Thanks Flatiron books and I’m excited for my copy to arrive! This one was published on October 4th and you can purchase your copy HERE.

My Goodreads buddy Karen Brissette did a little book swap with me; I sent her a copy of The Method By Shannon Kirk and in exchange I got this gorgeous arc from her! I’ve been searching for upcoming African American literature and I think this one will be a hit; it’s being described as “The Great Gatsby brilliantly recast in the contemporary south” which is a bold claim.

My book buddy bestie Laura Rash sent me these gorgeous copies of Sally Hepworth’s books, one being her upcoming release set for early next year! I’m new to Hepworth’s books and can’t wait to dive into these.

That’s it for this week folks! Have you read any of these books or are they on your ever growing TBR mountain? As always, if you have a book (not your own) that you’d like to see reviewed, feel free and shoot me a message. If you are an author looking for a review of your book, please fill out a contact form and I’ll get back to you as soon as possible. I’m quite backlogged right now and am returning messages as quickly as possible.

  1. Yay congrats on being featured:) Also – I just love the cover of “No One is Coming to Save Us!” That’s one I would absolutely pick up just from the cover.
